A benefit concert for the orphan children of the Yoga Vedanta Kutir in Allahabad, India. This concert is being put on by Trevor himself and all proceeds will benefit the children in India.
Dearest Friends...
In January, I was very blessed to have had the chance to travel to India. I stayed in many beautiful temples and ashrams and met many wonderful yogis and saints. During my stay in Allahabad at the Kumbha Mela, I was blessed to have stayed at the Yoga Vedanta Kutir, My Grandfather Guru's ashram. In the ashram, I had the privilige of meeting "the ashram boys" which consisted of 5 or 6 young boys between the ages of 5 and 14. These boys were the most divine little boys I have ever met. They served so selflessly around the ashram, taught me the game of cricket, showed me their yoga postures, and sang chants with me. I learned that all of these boys were orphans at one time or another, and the head of the ashram took them in, cleaned them up, taught them yoga, and sent them to school. When leaving the ashram, I couldn't help but shed tears while saying good bye to the boys. They touched my heart in so many ways.
After returning from India, the idea of doing something for them kept occuring in my mind. Now that I have enough time, I am putting on a benefit concert for these boys in Laguna Beach on June 22nd at 8PM. All proceeds will benefit their education, clothing, food, etc. We will have a silent auction, snaks, books, incense all available for purchase.
Whoever could attend, I would appreciate it so so so much. It would not only mean so much to me, but also to the boys and the head of the ashram in India. Please tell as many people as you know.
